Freedom Story from Megan L – Episode #084

“I never thought of growing old”

Megan L stopped trusting herself at 10 years old. She learned from her first diet that a growling, hungry stomach was a good thing. Being so desperate to restrict, she found the answer to finally manage the binging: bulimia. Not forever, just for now. 18 years later the bulimia persisted and surviving from day to day. Although deadly, she didn’t know what else to do. Always having the thought in the back of her head “I wonder if I will live to see that?”

We celebrate Megan as she is now truly living, free of her eating disorder. Knowing that she can plan to grow old because she is no longer hurting herself. She tells us about the best parts of freedom and some things she didn’t expect. And what is even better than ending her eating disorder.
